Our Story
The Valley of Reading is comprised of four bodies: Lodge of Perfection, Council of Princes of Jerusalem, Knights of Rose Croix and Consistory. We have various special interest clubs, a volunteer organization and two honorary groups to honor members who have made special contributions to the Valley and Freemasonry.

Jeffrey S. Moyer, 33°
Jeffery S. Moyer, 33° is a Past Master of Lodge No. 43, Lancaster, PA, and is currently serving his Lodge as a Trustee.
He has also served the Valley of Reading as Most Wise Master of Francis Marion Highley Chapter Knights of Rose Croix in 2016 – 2017.
Most notably, our Commander-in-Chief is a Past Regional Instructor of the Ritualistic Work for Region 2, having given ten years of service to the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. He has also been District 1 Education Chairman, Principal of District 1 School of Instruction, and is currently serving as the Asst. Grand Marshall. He is an enthusiastic member of our Fraternity as exemplified by his devotion of time and service to Freemasonry.
When not involved in masonic activities, Jeff spends time at Deerfoot Camp in Tioga County, PA, enjoying the solitude of nature and hunting turkeys and deer.
He is married to Susan R. Moyer for 34 years.

The Valley of Reading welcomes members from all races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. Before you can join the Scottish Rite, you must first become a Master Mason in a Lodge which is a part of a Grand Lodge recognized by the Conference of Grand Masters in North America, and be a Member in good standing.
