Francis Marion Highley Chapter of Knights of Rose Croix
17°-18°
The Chapter of Rose Croix provides the candidate with a deeper understanding of religion, philosophy, ethics, and history through a variety of complex "historical degrees". The intellectual challenges presented in these degrees are numerous, and at times overwhelming and can take years to master.
17
Knight of the East and West
The 17° teaches that true loyalty is owed first and foremost to God and to the eternal principles of right. Drawing on ancient symbolism of East and West, the degree challenges the Mason to rise above worldly allegiances and commit himself to a higher moral authority.
18
Knight Rose Croix
The 18° is one of the most celebrated in all of Freemasonry. Rich in symbolism drawn from multiple traditions, it teaches that Faith, Hope, and Charity are the virtues that sustain the soul through darkness and lead it toward the light. It is a degree of deep spiritual reflection and renewal.
